Who needs a drone. LOL! I own a fairly large kite. I figured, why not attach my GoPro to the kite and see what happens. Well…. after some trial (and error) flights and a couple of crash landings (not in the water thankfully) I managed to get a few nice aerial shots of the main west beach as well as some of the surrounding area. I also got a couple of good photos of the boardwalk and beach volleyball courts.
Of course I did my little “photography experiment” early in the day before the crowds arrived. I’m sure nobody would appreciate a crashing kite or falling camera, striking em’ on the head !!
Anyway, I guess a drone is the way to go. I’m on the fence about buying one because of all the rules and safety issues. I’ll be researching drones more in the upcoming months but I do think I’ll pass on any future kite photography.
